The club was founded to provide a place for like minded judoka to train in the Grand Blanc area while teaching a more street appropriate style of judo. The GBFJC is an AAU club and as such is independent of the squables and politics related to the major governing bodies related to the IJF (USJA, USJF, USA Judo).
