Tactical Flashlight Seminar

May 21 @ 11am Masters and Champions Martial Arts will be hosting a tactical flashlight seminar. The seminar is $25 pre-registered or $35 at the door. Students have the option to bring their own flashlight, purchase one at the seminar, or use one of the wooden dowels provided/ extra flashlights at the seminar. Participants must be 13 years or older.

Backhold Wrestling Tournament Success!!!!!

Well, our Scottish Backhold Wrestling tournament on August 2nd was a smashing success. All competitors had an amazing time and we loved hosting it. We ran a children's light and heavy weight divisions and an adult light and heavy weight divisions as well as our bairn division for the wee lads and lasses. 

Everyone one got several opportunities to experience SBW and at the end the kids in the bairn division got to challenge the adult of their choice to square off with in a match.

New Bairn Division for our SBW event

I wanted to announce that we will be adding a new division for our Scottish Backhold Wrestling event. The Bairn division is a division for the wee lads and lasses 6 and under to throw around some of our assistant instructors and senior students in a fun and entertaining environment. This division is free and open to any kiddo 6 and under to play.

Scottish Backhold Wrestling Seminar and Tournament

On August 2nd, Grand Blanc Freestyle Judo Club will be hosting a Scottish Backhold Wrestling Seminar and Tournament open to everyone in Grand Blanc, MI (Soccer Zone). Starting a 10:00am we will have a one hour seminar about Scottish Backhold Wrestling and its techniques. After we will host the first SBW tournament in Michigan. 

The cost is $15 pre-registered and $20 at the door. To pre-register email Michael Hough at mrhough@aol.com and include your weight.

Mark Tripp Seminar

Saturday July 26 the Grand Blanc Freestyle Judo Club will be hosting a seminar with Mark Tripp Sensei (Judo 6th Dan and Jujitsu 8th Dan). Tripp Sensei has trained such fighters/grapplers as Dan Severn and Ronda Rousey and has learned from judo greats like Judo Gene LeBell and Gokor Chivichiyan. Tripp Sensei has had the privilege of training in Japan during his military career and is one of the top Judo and Sambo instructors in Michigan.

Possible Seminar end of July

That's right, it looks like that either the second to last or last Sat. of July will be a grappling for the street and self defense seminar put on by Michael Hough Sensei. The seminar will be three hours long starting at 10:00 am at Masters and Champions. Tournament and Grading

April 16th at Aim Fitness in Kentwood will be a Judo-karate tournament and grading conducted by Farias Hanshi (Grandmaster). The fee is $25 for 1 event (Forms, Sparring, Grappling, Weapons) and is open to all ages, ranks, and styles.
